Food
Breakfast 8.30 – 9.30am: optional light, healthy breakfast of home-made granola with a choice of yoghurt, milk, almond, coconut and oat milk. Selection of fresh fruit and nuts. Bananas, apples & pears. There are two breaks in the morning with a fresh juice shot for the first break and raw energy ball for the second.
Drinks available at all times: Lemon infused water. Tea + cafetiere coffee. Pukka herbal tea selection. Fresh mint tea.
 

Timetable 

 Class Descriptions

Circuits: a fast paced class to loud music. Spend 30 seconds at each station on a specific exercise and then move on. A fun heart pumping group exercise.

Meditation: guided by Barbara, you will learn how to quieten your mind and find inner focus. Beginners welcome.

Kettlebells: a kettlebell is a weight with a handle (various weights available). Build strength and tone by squatting, swinging, lifting and lunging.

Yogalates: a hybrid of core-strengthening pilates and yoga stretching. Eve is a qualified teacher of both specialist disciplines.

Pilates: build stability and core strength while improving your posture and alignment.

Vinyasa Yoga: link breath to movement in a choreographed sequence, moving dynamically and creating stronger, longer muscles.

Acro Yoga: have a laugh playing around with being a base, flying or safety spotting in acro yoga. No previous experience necessary and all poses are optional.

Tai Chi: an introduction, exploring a standing pose (Wu Chi) which begins & ends all Tai Chai forms. Access the relaxed strength that is the hallmark of this exercise.

Rose Stride  R.F Fitness  Circuits

Rose has 5 children and still manages to teach a busy schedule around the Waveney area. She also fits in half marathons, marathons and is training for a 100km race. She is qualified to teach children as well as adults so offers mum + baby fitness and kids circuits as well as adult classes. Rose’s goal is to become an ambassador for healthy living & women’s fitness in Norfolk & Suffolk, taking a special interest in helping mothers find their way back to full strength post-childbirth.

 

Barbara Winfield   Meditation

Barbara’s passion is spreading meditation and mindfulness within the community and helping people to discover the benefits the practice can bring to their everyday lives. She communicates the principles behind the practices clearly, thoughtfully and knowledgeably. Let her guide you to a place of deeper relaxation and inner contentment.

Imogen Hall   Kettlebells

Imogen has been a group exercise instructor for over 25 years. Her happy outlook on life shines through in all her classes, mixing user friendly exercise with great music and the feel-good factor of working out. Imogen works in community and health clubs offering a diverse range of classes, her true loves being Step and of course Kettlebells.

Eve Dunn   Yogalates

After a life and career change in 2001 Eve moved from London to Suffolk and taught her first yoga class in her local village hall to a group of 20 keen students in a hall not much bigger than your average living room! Her love and passion for dynamic flow has grown and is reflected in her classes (several busy groups in Martlesham and Ipswich). Her flow sequences are challenging but achievable and her teaching style is friendly and fun with ever changing sequences that always have an element of surprise and a sting in the tail! She is dedicated to keeping up her own yoga practice and fitness programme and if you can’t get hold of her she is usually on a tennis court or sailing with her partner somewhere in the sunshine.

Kelly Steventon    Pilates

Kelly is a fully trained and certified pilates teacher with 12 years’ experience. She has taught in Hollywood California, New York and now in Cretingham and Woodbridge. Her extremely popular pilates classes will help you build core strength and stability, benefit your posture and alignment, increase your flexibility and improve muscle tone and endurance. They have even been known to convert yoga teachers to pilates!

Sally Salmon   www.sally-yoga.co.uk    Vinyasa Yoga 

Sally aims to inspire and uplift you from your habitual patterns, drawing on her eight years’ experience as a yoga teacher. She creates moving meditations and specialises in ensuring her classes are fun and accessible to all. She is trained in Vinyasa, pre-natal and yin yoga and runs regular classes in Norwich and retreats in the beautiful Norfolk countryside.

Wibbs & Jen Coulson   mandukyayoga.com   Acro Yoga

Wibbs combines his anatomical knowledge from his former career as a nurse with a strong yoga practice. He is qualified to teach vinyasa, Ashtanga, yin and acro. You will be guaranteed to learn something new in his classes as well as having a lot of fun. His lovely wife Jen is not a yoga teacher, but has embraced yoga due to her husband’s enthusiasm and is a competent acro yogi. Wibbs & Jenny have even been placed in an acro yoga competition.

Dominic Cleary   dominiccleary.wordpress.com    Tai Chi

lives in Newcastle but has strong family roots in Norfolk & Suffolk (phew!) He has been working with Tai Chi, Qigong and Shiatsu for 30 years, finding the practices to be powerful tools that complement each other and have bought great benefits to his health. The disciplines develop and deepen his understanding of the workings of chi (roughly translated as energy), complementing the Traditional Chinese Medical approach as well as Zen Shiatsu. Dominic has taught Tai Chi since 1997, learning from firstly from Anne Palmer & then Shifu Andy James from Toronto, Canada.

Henham Barns postcode is NR34 8AQ. The entrance is directly off the A12 in between Southwold & Wangford turn offs. Drive down the avenue of lime trees and the Henham Barn complex will be on your right.
Extra Information
  • Bring a yoga mat, trainers, blanket and water
  • If you would like to borrow a yoga mat please reserve one as limited availability
  • Previous yoga class experience not required, classes are accessible to all levels of fitness. You are welcome to take any modifications necessary if you are injured
  • It is perfectly possible to attend part of the morning or to leave early
  • There is no minimum age limit
  • Disclose any injuries or pregnancies prior to activity
  • You are welcome to consume your own snacks. No food or beverage is guaranteed nut/dairy/gluten free
  • All participants understand they are undertaking yoga & consumables at their own risk
 

Latitude Festival
13th-16th July 2017
Latitude is one of the jewels in the UK’s festival crown. This year the family friendly festival will celebrate its 12th anniversary. Latitude has a plethora of sights and sounds, including the very best from the creative worlds of music, film, comedy, literature, theatre, poetry, dance, art and yoga. Wander through Henham’s  fairy lit woods to discover hidden surprises; pause on the famous Latitude bridge to admire the sunset; catch a headline artists on the Obelisk stage or perhaps try wild swimming in the Henham Park lake. There are even brightly coloured sheep for the ultimate selfie!

Grand Henham Steam Rally
16th & 17th September 2017

The Steam Rally remain at its spiritual home of Henham Park, celebrating the 43rd year the event has been held. This popular event in Suffolk’s calendar recalls the golden age of steam engineering. Steam engines, vintage machinery and cars are exhibited alongside traditional country crafts, arts and pastimes. In addition there is entertainment provided by the showrings, shopping and delicious food – proceeds go to charity and local groups
