For walkers there are several family favourites nearby, including from Blythburgh to Walberswick. You’ll pass a number of great dining options, including The Anchor.
Dunwich also has a good network of walks and lovely coastal paths, and the Ship Inn is a must.
The Adnams Brewery Tour is absolutely fascinating. A working brewery in the middle of Southwold, just a short drive away – the smell of the hops is distinctly Southwold.
There’s a traditional part of Southwold Pier with bright lights and arcade games, but don’t miss The Under The Pier Show – kooky, quirky and completely bonkers!
Interested in the history of lifeboats and Southwold’s rich maritime heritage? Then you will find the Alfred Corry Lifeboat Museum fascinating. Kids and adults love it alike and the staff are so knowledgeable. It’s housed in a former lifeboat shed that was moved by sea from Cromer.
The Southwold Museum is dedicated to the local and natural history of the area. It had a refit recently and features a host of fascinating new displays.
